I started working for New Roots Providence in 2007 when I was a senior in college. New Roots Providence — a program of The Providence Plan that provides training and support to other Rhode Island non-profit organizations — was in need of a new look for their website to help them keep their constituents informed of upcoming events and to make their wealth of downloadable material easily accessible to the public.
More than any other project, the New Roots site was born out of, grew and matured from a continually evolving relationship between my client and its community. I was fortunate to be able to work closely with their team for two full years, helping them release several versions of their site, providing them with technical training, and in the process learning a lot about what matters most to non-profit community organizations.
