I’ve always been attracted to logos formed through the creative use of typography. Conceptually, I wanted my own logo to communicate content — a letter of my name, or in the case of my current logo, my initials — as well as convey an aesthetic. I created these two graphic concepts while brainstorming a new look for my portfolio.
For my little bird, I was inspired by the graphic simplicity and colors of Japanese hanafuda.
The balloon was a more abstract merging that assumed its shape as I added more bars and curves of color. I had planned to use the balloon as a high-contrast header background but found that its color palette was too broad and too overpowering to effectively use with other elements on the page.
